Course Structure

Our Accounting and Finance degree is structured to build your expertise progressively across three years of study:

Year 1
Develop fundamental skills in financial analysis, business law, digital systems, and international markets.
Year 2
Deepen your knowledge in financial reporting, UK taxation, performance management and governance.
Year 3
Specialise in corporate governance, international reporting, capital markets, and complete a Major Project.

In your final year, you'll work as part of an interdisciplinary team on a Major Project, applying everything you've learned to address a current issue in business and present your findings.

Foundation Year Option

To prepare you for university study, you can take a foundation year at the start of this course. The foundation year focuses on developing general academic skills while introducing key business concepts.

What happens on a foundation year?

A foundation year prepares you for the rest of your course, focusing on essential skills such as:

  • Introduction to business concepts

The foundation year is available at multiple locations and provides a supportive transition to degree-level study, particularly beneficial if you don't meet the direct entry requirements.

Entry Requirements

We welcome applicants from diverse educational backgrounds and consider both academic qualifications and relevant experience.

Standard Entry (3 Year Degree)

  • 5 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including English and Maths
  • Evidence of two years post-GCSE study at Level 3 (e.g., A Levels, BTEC)
  • If you have at least grade E in one A level (or equivalent), the two years post-GCSE requirement is waived

Foundation Year Entry (4 Year Degree)

  • 5 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above
  • For mature applicants: Minimum two years of relevant full-time employment may be considered

International Students

IELTS 5.5 (Academic level) or equivalent English language qualification required for non-native speakers.
